Neil Penney - Kaw Tay Whee School

Mr. Penney has been a part of the Kaw Tay Whee School team for 11 years. He has held a variety of roles at our school and currently serves as the Program Support Teacher. Mr. Penney is originally from Newfoundland, but has called the NWT home for 15 years. An award-winning educator, Mr. Penney is passionate about inclusion and the meaningful integration of new technology to promote student engagement and learning. Culturally-responsive pedagogy and the promotion of the Wiiliideh language are very important to him. Mr. Penney has a giant heart and sense of humor. He loves to spend time with his children (Jack and Lucy) gardening, fishing and exploring new cities. His personal hobbies include carving, playing guitar and assisting with the annual Soapbox Derby in Yellowknife. If you mention baseball to Mr. Penney, settle in.
