Sacred Feather Indigenous Student Awards - Nomination Portal Open

Sacred Feather Indigenous Student Awards recognizes Indigenous students who model strength and commitment in the pursuit of their personal education paths. This award is a part of the Yellowknife Education District No. 1 (YK1) Board of Trustees commitment to reconciliation.  The awards are also linked to the Board of Trustees’ strategic priorities of celebrating Indigenous culture and language and building strong communities.

These awards celebrate the unique qualities of Indigenous students who inspire their peers, teachers, education leaders, and community members while embracing their cultural traditions. Nominees appreciate and make use of their own gifts, strengths and potential while respecting other students to do the same in their own ways.

Nominations are now being accepted through the Nomination Portal.  

The nomination deadline is May 15, 2024.
