Thank you for regularly checking out the school news. This week is pretty much a straight return to our routines, with one important change: Our gym opens on Monday, and students can take PE classes in our brand new facility! Otherwise,  here is what we have planned:

• Subway orders for Thursday's lunch hour must be submitted by 6 PM on Monday, October 24th. To make it easier for our families, we have included a link to the ordering page under our 'Programs' tab at the top of our website. Clicking on that link will take you directly to where you can place an order.
• We are running a number of lunch hour clubs this year for students in Grades 3 to 5:
  • Tuesdays - Minecraft (using the minecraft.edu product, supervised by a staff member) - Meets in the Project Room at 11:30
  • Wednesdays - Trading Card Game Club - Students can play trading card games such as Pokemon or Yugioh. This is for playing only, there is no trading allowed at the club or at school. Meets in the Kitchen at 11:30
  • Thursdays - Chess Club - Meets in the Kitchen at 11:30
• Thursday, October 27th is Subway Day.
• On Wednesday November 2nd, all classes will be walking to Sir John Franklin School in order to see a theatre performance. The four stories being presented are The Paper Bag Princess, Alexander and the Terrible Horrible No Good Very Bad Day, The Zax, Where the Wild Things Are. The cost to attend is $5 per student. We are asking for families to send this amount with their children, which will be collected in class between now and Friday, October 28th. We will also be making arrangements for any families who ask for support to cover the admission price.

Please note that Friday November 4th there will be no classes for students. Across the YK1 district, that day has been set aside to allow teachers to begin the work on students' report cards (coming out in the last half of November).
