Thank you also to our PAC for organizing this for our school!

Subway Day - February 8th

Our next Subway Day is set for Thursday, February 8th. If you haven't done so already (and you would like to order a sandwich for your child), you can do so by following this link.

Rainbow Club Logo Contest

Our grade 4/5 Rainbow Club is looking for help with the creation of a logo for our clubs. The logo will be used in the future for signage and club swag. They are inviting all interested  students to submit their suggestions. The club members will pair down the submissions and then hold a school wide vote. Submissions must meet the following criteria:

  • be in French
  • be created by students
  • include the name « Club Arc-En-Ciel »
  • can use any artistic medium (drawn, painted, digital)
  • be submitted to Mme. Ashley by February 7th

Thank You for Making a Difference Mme Jordan!

Over the month of January, the Northwest Territories Teachers Association organizes "Thank You for Making a Difference". This is an opportunity for students and community members to recognize a member of the staff for having done something to make a difference for them. At the end of the month, one entry is selected. The teacher selected receives $100 from Staples for classroom supplies, while the nominating student receives a $50 gift certificate to be used at Yellowknife's Bookcellar. We are pleased to announce that Mme Jordan is this year's winner. She was nominated by Mia, who wrote that Mme Jordan helps her when she needs it, and Mme Jordan is always nice. Congratulations to you both!

Reminders...

West Coast Seeds Sale Fundraiser - Last Chance to Order!

Our West Coast Seeds fundraiser application has been approved! The fundraiser sale will be from 3 Jan 2024 - 3 Feb 2024 with 40% of all sales going to our school’s PAC! This year there will be a larger selection of seeds to choose from. Please use the link below to order.

Website: https://fundraising.westcoastseeds.com/collections/all

All orders will be shipped in bulk at the end of the sale for organization. Once that has taken place, we post additional information to our website on the distribution of your individual orders. This is a great way to get ready for the new gardening season while also supporting our school!

Breakfast Program - Volunteers Needed!

The Ecole Itlo Breakfast Program is looking for volunteers! Breakfast is offered every morning to all students in the school kitchen. Parent volunteers are needed every morning from 7:45-8:45 am to set up, serve, and clean up after breakfast. It is a lovely way to get to know the school community.

All volunteers must complete a Vulnerable Sector Check. If your most recent check is over a year old, you will need to renew it. If this is the case, please contact the front office and Mme Laura can draft a letter for you to take to the RCMP to get the check completed.

If you are able to help out, please indicate your availability on this sign up sheet, which also has a link with more information about how the program runs. You can email the Parent Advisory Council (itlopac@gmail.com) with any questions. As well, please consider joining our Facebook group (Ecole Itlo PAC) to stay updated about upcoming school and PAC events.
