WMS In Secure & Hold - Bears on/near Campus - Open House POSTPONED
WMS Update - 3:00 PM
Dear WMS Families,
We are writing to inform you of a wildlife safety situation in the area around École William McDonald Middle School.
A bear has been spotted in the area near the school. Environment and Climate Change (ECC) has been notified, and we are continuing to monitor the situation as it is assessed by the appropriate authorities.
Out of an abundance of caution, students will remain inside the school at this time. For end-of-day dismissal, the following procedures will be in place:
Bus students: Students will remain inside until it is safe to do so and will be escorted to their buses by staff.
Students being picked up: Students will remain inside until their parent/guardian arrives and will be escorted safely to vehicles.
Students who normally walk or bike home: There will be no independent dismissal today. These students will need to be picked up by a parent/guardian or another authorized adult and will be escorted to vehicles by staff.
We will continue to assess the situation with ECC and will update families if there are any changes to these procedures before the end of the school day.

PLEASE NOTE: The WMS Open House originally scheduled for this evening has been postponed. A new Open House date will be shared when available.
