Godi Enı̨thł’è - Le 30 octobre au 3 novembre, 2023

Thank you for staying up-to-date on our weekly news. Next week is very exciting with Halloween just around the corner, and a trip to the theatre! Also please remember that there is no school on Wednesday, November 1st. That is an assessment and evaluation day as teachers get ready for the report cards coming home on November 20th.
Reminder - Breakfast Program Volunteers
The Ecole Itlo Breakfast Program is looking for volunteers! Breakfast is offered every morning to all students in the school kitchen. Parent volunteers are needed every morning from 7:45-8:45 am to set up, serve, and clean up after breakfast. It is a lovely way to get to know the school community.
All volunteers must complete a Vulnerable Sector Check. If your most recent check is over a year old, you will need to renew it. If this is the case, please contact the front office and Mme Laura can draft a letter for you to take to the RCMP to get the check completed.
If you are able to help out, please indicate your availability on this sign up sheet, which also has a link with more information about how the program runs. You can email the Parent Advisory Council (itlopac@gmail.com) with any questions. As well, please consider joining our Facebook group (Ecole Itlo PAC) to stay updated about upcoming school and PAC events.
Halloween at École Įtł’ǫ̀
Students are most welcome to wear their costumes at school on October 31. At 11:00, we will have an assembly in the gym and a costume parade. Students will be invited to participate in class groups. Individual classroom teachers may also have additional expectations about the timing for wearing costumes in class which they will share with their own families. We do ask that students' costumes not include any real or simulated weapons. Also, we ask that costumes not be too scary for the benefit of all students, but particularly our younger ones. Costumes must also be appropriate for an elementary school. Finally, students are allowed to bring masks. They may be allowed to wear them in class (at the teachers' discretion) and during the costume parade. However masks cannot be worn in the halls or while outside for our recess breaks. We appreciate you taking a few minutes to review these expectations with your children to help ensure that everyone has a safe and fun Halloween at École Įtl’ǫ̀. We would like to wish everyone a safe and Happy Halloween!
Monthly Assembly and Featured Dene Law - November 2nd
Every month, a couple of classes work together to put on a presentation for the students at an assembly. On Thursday, we are pleased to have the Kindergarten students in Mme Kayla and Mme Manon's class show what they know. This year, we are also highlighting the Dene Laws and choosing one upon which to focus each month. This month, our assembly will also kick off our work on the Dene Law share what you have.
Reminder - Children's Festival - November 2nd
On Thursday November 2nd our students in Grades 1 through 5 will walk to the NACC to enjoy an afternoon performance put on by the Children's Theatre Festival. Seating is limited and the performances are more likely to be appreciated by the students in these grades. The theme of the individual segments will be fractured fairy tales. Students will be leaving in time to enjoy the performance, which is scheduled to start at 1:15. We are pleased to annouce that this year there is no cost to families for their children to attend and enjoy this performance.
Reusable Water Bottles Welcome
Reusable water bottles are welcome at École Įtl’ǫ̀. Staying well-hydrated is a boost to learning and also to general health. We encourage you to provide your child with a reusable water bottle (if you haven't done so already). Students can use our filling stations and have water near by at all times when playing and learning during the day. We also want to make sure that we hydrate while being kind to the planet. Therefore, if sending your child to school with a water bottle, please make sure it is reusable. Single-use bottles are discouraged. If a student doesn't have a water bottle they are always welcome to use a fountain.
