Cell Policy

MHS Student Cell Phone Policy -  School Hours: 8:25 AM – 3:25 PM

  • Upon arrival at school, student cell phones must be turned off and either stored in their lockers or placed in a locked location by the teacher.

  • If a cell phone is seen during the day, the following steps will be taken:

    1. First time: The student is given a verbal warning and asked to put the phone away.

    2. Second time: The phone is collected by the teacher, locked up for the day, and a phone call home is made. The student may retrieve it at the end of the day.

    3. Third time: The phone is handed in to administration. A parent or guardian must come to the school to retrieve it, and a phone call home is made.

We understand that families may need to connect with their children. We ask that this be done before or after school. For urgent matters during the day, please call the school office—our staff will ensure messages are delivered or students can return the call.

Important: In any emergency situation (e.g., lockdown), students must not use their phones or contact others about the incident. This is critical for student safety and emergency response protocols.
